Manchester City have failed to secure what was the club’s number one summer target after Harry Kane confirmed he is staying at Tottenham Hotspur.
As Futaa reported on Wednesday, Kane made an official announcement that he is staying in North London, which was a few months after he had openly expressed his desire to leave the club he joined since he was 11 years old.

After losing the incredible Sergio Aguero who joined FC Barcelona as a free agent, the English champions wanted Harry Kane and the feeling was mutual.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic’s financial impact on football, selling clubs demanding steep fees and buying clubs have been forced to dig deep.
After paying an English record fee of £100 million for Jack Grealish, Manchester City knew Kane would cost even more than that. After a reported bid of £120m for Kane, who had three years left on his contract, Spurs’ famously tough chairman Daniel Levy firmly resisted the enormous offer.
It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks. 👏⚽

In the end, the 28-year-old England center forward simply gave up. He will continue his career with the Lillywhites under his new manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
