The national U17 team, the Black Maidens were involved in a friendly against a lowly female side, Valued Girls last Tuesday.
The friendly saw the U17 walloped Valued Girls 7-2 at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram. The friendly was in towards the U17 team preparation ahead of their qualifier World Cup qualifier against Liberia.
Speaking to the media, the head coach of the U17 national team, Baba Nuhu has managed to draw twice with male select sides, seeing his side win massively against Valued Girls was not a surprise to him.
” This is actually the third match, the first match, we played boys U15 and we drew 1-1, the second match was against Greater Accra select side, we drew 1-1. Today is the third match and you can see that the scoreline is different from other scoreline”
Talking about preparation, coach Nuhu hint on keeping the teams without a break, this he said will help the team to go through the last phase of the preparation.
” We have gone through some kind of training which we want them to know that, we going in for a competition, now the coming week, we are not breaking the girls, we will take our time to go through the last phase of the preparation, we will look at the tactics to adopt in Liberia, that’s the preparation set so far.
The U17 team will travel to Liberia to book a date with their female counterparts as the the U17 World Cup qualifier begins.
