Alvaro Morata Watching Spain’s Penalty Shoot Out Shows Hows Passionate About The Team He Is – SPORTbible

Alvaro Morata has certainly had his critics during Euro 2020 but no one can question his passion towards Spain’s cause, after video of his reactions in the quarter final penalty shoot out surfaced.

Morata has scored twice as Spain have progressed to the semi finals of the Euros but it’s his misses that have been in the spotlight more than his successes.

Spot kicks had not been kind to Luis Enrique’s side so they may not have been too confident on Friday night when 10 man Switzerland managed to take the Euro 2012 winners to a shoot out, especially with the Swiss having already beaten France by the same method.

Morata had been subbed off during the game so had to watch from the sidelines as his teammates stepped forward to take their spot kicks.

One camera focused on the Juventus striker during the shoot out and it shows how much passion he has and how much he cares about the national team.

It was of course Spain who went through, after a particularly poor set of penalties from both teams, with Switzerland managing to miss three of their kicks.

Only Mario Gavranovic actually scored for them, taking their first one, whilst Spain had Dani Olmo, Gerard Moreno and Mikel Oyarzabal all scored for Spain, with Sergio Busquets and Rodri both missing.

Whilst the shoot out itself was of particularly poor quality, a shock considering how good the Swiss were just several days before in their last 16 game, the aftermath provided a real touch of class.
