Liverpool will have to wait until Monday to learn the extent of Andy Robertson’s injury.
The defender picked the injury against Athletic Club on Sunday afternoon in a friendley clash and will undergo further scans on Monday.
The Scotland international limped off at the end of the first half with a perceived knock while attempting to block a cross.
Speakign durign his post-match update, the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp said;
“We obviously don’t know in the moment how serious it is. It was pretty painful and that’s why Andy went off. You probably saw it on the TV pictures better than we did, but he got the ball, the ball on the front of his foot, [and] twisted the ankle.
“The pain settled already, but we cannot say anything further without further assessment tomorrow. He has to get a scan and then we will know more.”
Liverpool open their Premier League campaign with a match away against newly-promoted side Norwich next weekend and will hope the defender will be available.
