Anthony Martial has already made his feelings on Harry Kane clear as Tottenham eye £50m transfer – Football.London

Tottenham are interested in making a move for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial this summer, according to recent reports.

Martial, who has three years remaining on his deal in Manchester, is valued at £50million by United, a report from the Daily Star says.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just brought Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford and Martial is now reportedly deemed as surplus to requirements after a frustrating six-year spell with United.

Spurs are said to be interested in the France international, but his £250,000-a-week wage demands could prove to be an issue for the north London club, with Daniel Levy ‘not interested’ in making Martial one of his top earners.

The report also claims that the most likely scenario where the 25-year-old would end up at Spurs would be a player-plus-cash deal for Harry Kane, with United thought to be keen on the England captain.

football.london understands that Tottenham’s stance on Kane, like it has been all summer-long, is that he is not for sale and they are determined to keep hold of last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner.

But should any move for Martial materialise, the French forward would potentially be linking up with Kane, a striker he clearly has huge admiration for.

Speaking to MUTV in 2016, via Football365, Martial said: “He’s a top player and he’s also still only young.

“He had a great season last year and he’s underlined just how good he is this time around. He’s a quality player who is very entertaining to watch.”

Spurs are reportedly on the lookout for a new attacking player to help Kane in N17, especially with Carlos Vinicius’ loan deal ending. Son Heung-min has recently put pen-to-paper on a contract extension with the club, but reinforcements are said to be being considered.
