It’s just a matter of time before Arsenal announce their fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been relatively busy since the 2020/21 campaign ended, bolstering Mikel Arteta‘s first-team squad with deals for Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White.
All three were involved in Arsenal‘s 2021/22 Premier League opener against Brentford last week – with the latter enduring a difficult competitive debut after his £50m move – which ended in a disappointing 2-0 loss.
A lack of creativity was on show for Arteta’s side once again, and it would appear that he is close to addressing that issue as another signing is seemingly imminent.
And it’s that of Martin Odegaard‘s £29m transfer.
The past few days have seen Gunners make significant progress with regards to bringing the Norway captain back to the Emirates Stadium for another spell following his loan during the second half of last season.
It remains to be seen if the playmaker will be available to face Chelsea on Sunday, but football.london understands he was set to sign his contract today.
That may have already been done.
As seen in the image above that has been uploaded to Reddit, an announcement could be imminent as Odegaard appears to have been ‘spotted’ at London Colney after completing his medical.
This prompted a big reaction…

Odegaard isn’t the only new face expected at Arsenal in the coming hours.
football.london revealed on Wednesday night that the Gunners have agreed a deal in principle for a fee believed to be in the region of £24million to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Like Odegaard, Ramsdale is due to sign his contract and all that remains is the official announcement of him becoming the Gunners’ next summer signing.
