ARSENAL legend Ian Wright has called on the Gunners’ midfielders to score more goals and ease the burden on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Thomas Partey scored his first goal for the club against Aston Villa on Friday night, before Emile Smith Rowe grabbed Arsenal’s third.
And Wright, 57, wants to see more contributions like these moving forward, including from the likes of Bukayo Saka.
He told Premier League Productions: “You could see how disappointed [the fans were] when he hit the post just a couple of minutes earlier.
“He’s somebody that he’s been shooting from some crazy places, so he was desperate to get his goal. I’m quite pleased that he finally got it.
“I would like to see him getting more goals because Arsenal are going to need more goals from the midfield.
“We’re seeing with Emile Smith Rowe, we’re seeing with Saka, there is going to need to be more goals than just the dependency on Aubameyang.”
Fellow pundit Darren Bent agreed that Partey in particular can add goals to his game.

He added: “We’ve seen him try to shoot from 35 yards and it just goes nowhere near the goal.
“I think someone of his stature and someone of his physique, he could be getting more goals.
“Certainly from set pieces because he is a threat.”
The Gunners’ 3-1 victory extended their unbeaten run to seven in all competitions.
Aubameyang’s opener was his fourth goal in eight games this season.
