Arsenal vs Sunderland LIVE: Nketiah bundles home opener for the Gunners – Football.London

Arsenal host Sunderland in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners go into the game in great form, having secured their place in the top four at Christmas with three wins in a row against Southampton West Ham and Leeds.

Having impressed in the Premier League they now turn their attention to cup competition where they have the chance to reach an early semi final against Lee Johnson’s side.

Mikel Arteta has been able to name an unchaged side in all four of his side’s last matches, but that is expected change this evening where the Spaniard is likely to give some of his second string a run out against League One opposition.

The likes of Nicolas Pepe, Eddie Nketiah and Flo Balogun are set to be involved, but it’s likely there will again be no room for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is still not available for selection after being stripped of the club captaincy for his latest disciplinary breach last week.

Arsenal go into the game as heavy favourites to progress against the lowest ranked side left in the competition.
