Head coach of PearlPia Ladies, Baba Nuhu Malam has revealed how enthused he is with his team’s performance so far in the ongoing NCWSC, but has also said that he sees their performance as a developmental process rather than a title chase.
Quizzed on the chances of PearlPia winning the ultimate of the ongoing competition after going top of the table ahead of the two time NWL Champions Ampem Darko, Nuhu said:
“Our main aim is not to win the ultimate but to develop the girls, so we are taking it one game at a time.
“It’s a bit difficult and a lot of pressure when you play in a group with city rivals and a two time national champion, its not easy to top”.
His comments comes after Pearlpia Ladies drew goalless with Ampem Darkoa Ladies, two times champions of the National Women’s League to move top of the group B table with 4 points.
Coach Baba Nuhu Malam doubles as the assistant coach of the women’s U17 Nation team and part of their recent trip to Uruguay for the U17 world cup campaign.
Meanwhile, Pearpia Ladies are playing city rivals Northern Ladies next in match day 3 on March 16, 2019.
