Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann will reportedly be offered to Chelsea as the Catalan club desperately attempts to trim their wage bill to re-sign Lionel Messi.
Chelsea are on a quest to close the gap at the top of the Premier League between them and last season’s winners Manchester City.
While the south-west London club got the better of Pep Guardiola’s side in May’s UEFA Champions League final to become champions of Europe for just the second time in their history, they also finished 19 points behind the Citizens, who won their third league title in four seasons.
Therefore, Blues’ boss Thomas Tuchel is looking to add to his already star-studded squad as football.london understands that the German coach is interested in signing a defender, a midfielder and a striker this summer in a bid to win Chelsea their first Premier League title since 2017.
It is understood that the former Borussia Dortmund manager was hoping to raid his old club by signing their world-class striker Erling Haaland this summer, but given a deal seems increasingly unlikely, he may have to turn his attention elsewhere in the search for a ready-made forward.
So, Tuchel may look at Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann as an alternative to the Norwegian frontman, with the Catalan club ready to offer the Frenchman to a number of Europe’s elite clubs – including Chelsea, according to the Daily Star.

Barca have to get rid of several star players this summer if they want to re-sign the legendary Lionel Messi to a new contract.
The veteran attacker’s deal expired at the end of last month and he reportedly wants to stay at the Camp Nou, but is unable to sign his newly agreed deal under strict La Liga salary cap rules – which could prompt Barcelona to show Griezmann the door.
Griezmann bagged 20 goals and 13 assists across all competitions for Ronaldo Koeman’s side last term, and he could be the perfect fit for Tuchel’s energetic pressing 3-4-3 system, given his hard-working play-style that resulted in such a successful spell under Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone.
