Reports on Monday claimed the Catalan giants are unable to register any of their new signings because they have exceeded LaLiga’s strict salary limit by 40 per cent.
That means that until players are moved on new arrivals such as Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia cannot be officially registered with the league.

And according to Sport, Barcelona – who are more than £1billion in debt due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic – are looking to sell one of their top earners, with France international Griezmann prime among them.
The report adds the Catalan outfit need to offload around £171million (€200m) from their wage bill to register all of their new signings and tie Lionel Messi down to a new contract.
And the outlet claims selling Griezmann will help ease around £107m (€125m) of that amount, alongside whatever transfer fee Barcelona manage to raise for the 30-year-old.
The French forward is currently the club’s top earner on £294,000 per week, with Messi officially no longer – for the time being at least – a Barcelona player having yet to sign on to fresh terms at the Nou Camp after his contract expired at the end of June.
Ronald Koeman (left, back) is happy to go in to the new season with Messi and new arrival Sergio Aguero (right) in his forward line… but financial problems are threatening his plans
But the report claims boss Ronald Koeman would be confident of going into the new campaign without Griezmann and trusts Messi, Depay and Aguero to perform well enough over the course of the season in his forward line.
The same outlet adds Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are the most likely destination for Griezmann should he leave Spain this summer, with the future of Kylian Mbappe at the Parc des Princes increasingly uncertain after resisting to sign an extension to his current deal, which expires next summer.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is having to get creative with incomings this summer, mainly with free transfers, all while moving on high earners and those out of favour.
But he is aware of the need to clear salary space to re-register Messi as negotiations over a new contract remain ongoing.

Junior Firpo is close to joining Premier League side Leeds United in a deal worth just shy of £13m. The full-back’s exit would save Barca in the region of £8m per season.
Francisco Trincao has also been sent to England, in a loan deal with Wolves, who hold an option to buy.
Konrad De La Fuente has been sold to Marseille while Jean Claire-Todibo has been moved to Nice, the combination of which saves the club around £9m in wages and further payments.

Matheus Fernandes saw his deal dramatically expunged recently and he is now said to be chasing loss of earnings at court for what he feels is unfair termination.
Samuel Umtiti, Philippe Coutinho and Miralem Pjanic are all being shopped around by Barcelona and now it appears Griezmann has been added to that list.
The France international is currently away on holiday after featuring for France at Euro 2020 prior to their round-of-16 elimination at the hands of Switzerland via a penalty shootout.
