Captain of the Nigeria U17 Women national team side Ekeh Nelly has fired a warning to the Ghanian team after Nigeria defeated Guinea in the second leg of the second of the India 2020 U17 Women World Cup qualifiers.
The flamingos defeated Guinea 5-1 (agg- 11-2) in the match played at the Agege Stadium on Saturday.
Rofiat Imuran, Taiwo Lawal, Alvin Gasoso and Chinyere Kalu were the goal scorers for Nigeria while Dede scored the consolation goal for the visitors.
The flamingos didn’t qualify for the previous edition of the tournament and she urge her teammates not to lose focus after their victory as the last stage of the qualifiers really means a lot to them.
They will play against west African sisters Ghana who defeated Liberia 8-0 (agg- 10-0) in their match on Saturday. Nelly is really confident that flamingos is ready for the encounter and possibly grab the ticket to the World Cup.
” We did it in Conakry, we have done it here in Lagos and we will do it again in Ghana and pick the ticket. So, the Ghanians should be prepared because we are coming with full force.
Nelly emphasize on her team’s performance and congratulate them for their victory.
“The team’s performance was fantastic. Our coach set a goal for us and we made him proud. Despite being on man down, we still came out victorious. We dominated the match despite the deduction and I’m happy with my players for the performance. Congratulations to us again.
