Head coach of the Black Queens, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo, is set to cut down the size of her squad from thirty to 25 on Wednesday ahead of the forthcoming WAFU Zone B Cup.
The former FIFA referee initially called a 30-woman provisional squad to camp in Cape Coast ahead of their title defence in Cote D’Ivoire.
Since moving to the Central region, the Queens have won one and lost one in their preparation for the start of the sub-regional competition.
Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo is expected to name a strong squad to make amends for the botched campaign in last year’s AWCON staged in Ghana.
Ghana are in the same group with 2017 finalists and hosts, Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal and next-door neighbours, Togo in Group A.
