The senior national team brushed aside cross town rivals Togo 4-1 in an international friendly played at the ElWak Sports stadium this afternoon.
A brace from Gladys Amfobea and Evelyn Badu rubbished Adina Akpo’s solitary strike to consign Togo to a 4-1 win.
The Queens broke the deadlock through Gladys Amfobea in the 29th minute before he registered her personal brace and the team’s second eight minutes to half time through a penalty.
After recess it was the Badu-show who struck the team’s third and her first after 52 minutes before Togolese substitute Adina Akpo notched a consolation goal with three minutes to stoppage time but Evelyn Badu had other ideas when she scored in stoppish time to restore Ghana’s three goal margin to give the home side a comfortable win.
Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo’s charges are in the running to qualify for their first Olympic Games and will face Kenya in the next round of qualifiers.
