The female senior national team, Black Queens shared the spoils with host Cote D’Ivoire in their third and final group game today at the Robert Champroux stadium.

Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo ringed two changes to the side that stormed past Togo with Alice Kusi and Jane Ayiyeam taking the place of Mukarama and Evelyn Badu.

Both teams huffed and puffed in search of the game’s opener but to no avail as a combination of good defense and some good saves kept the attackers at bay.

It was as if nature wanted to witness more between the two best sides in Group A as the game was paused temporarily due to torrential rainfall after 65 minutes.

The game failed to produce any goal between the two neighbours when it resumed and thus renders both sides unbeaten with three clean sheets after the group phase.

Per Group B’s outlook, Ghana is most likely to take on arch rivals Nigeria in the semifinals after the Queens finished in second position.

Ivorian captain Koulibali Fatou was adjudged the Most Valuable Player at the end of 90 minutes.
