Coach Alhassan Sumani is unashamed about Blessed Ladies’ humiliating 17-0 defeat against the Black Queens yesterday.

The female senior national team has racked up a staggering 29 goals in three friendly games, winning twice and losing the other as they gear up for their title defense in Cote D’Ivoire.

Quizzed by NBSportslive on the humiliating scoreline, coach Smani said:

“It’s good, in the sense that it served as a justify for the Black Queens because they still have to prune the squad from 25 to 21 for the tournament.

“So I think the game was good for them in order for the technical handlers to assess the team.

“Black Queens are up-to scratch because, it is a compilation of the best players in the domestic league.”

Ghana will kick start the second edition of the WAFU competition against Senegal on May 8.
