Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has delivered an update on his future amid transfer links to Chelsea.
The Blues are desperate to add a world-class striker to their ranks this summer as they attempt to bridge the gap between them and last season’s Premier League winners, Manchester City.
football.london understands that Haaland is the club’s number one target but a deal looks increasingly unlikely given Dortmund have already sold Jadon Sancho to Manchester United this summer.
Thomas Tuchel is reportedly a huge admirer of the Norwegian frontman and given French forward Olivier Giroud has already left for AC Milan earlier this month, the German coach will be hoping he can pull off the signing of the summer by bringing Haaland to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes on August 31.
Still, the 20-year-old has given an update on his future at the Westfalenstadion and one that may not come as good news to Chelsea fans hoping to see him arrive at Stamford Bridge.
Haaland has said he is currently enjoying his time with the Bundesliga club, but also made it no secret of his desire to compete for silverware, having won the DFB-Pokal last term.
“First of all I have three years left on my contract,” he told German outlet SportBild.
“I’m enjoying my time here. But of course, the trophy was important because that’s what I want.”
The Blues know how hard it would be to bring Haaland to Stamford Bridge this summer but his admission of a desire to win trophies will give them hope that a deal isn’t completely out of reach.
The former RB Salzburg frontman boasts an incredible record in front of goal, netting 57 times in just 59 games for Dortmund.
