Bruno Fernandes trolls Manchester United teammate Luke Shaw during Instagram exchange – Manchester Evening News

Bruno Fernandes has taken aim at Manchester United teammate Luke Shaw during a light-hearted exchange on social media platform Instagram.

On the back of their Euro 2020 exploits – for Portugal and England respectively – the United players are back with the main group at Carrington.

Indeed, the first-team squad continue to put in those hard yards ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

Due to Euro 2020 and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, clubs such as United have struggled for structure and that much-needed consistency during pre-season.

United even saw one of their summer fixtures, against Preston, called off due to suspected coronavirus cases.

However, either side of that set-back, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men have teamed-up for two intense training camps – including one north of the border.

It is there where Fernandes, Shaw and the club’s other Euro 2020 stars were reunited with the main group.

As part of their sessions, players were split up into small-sided teams and took part in series of ‘friendly’ contests – not that Fernandes knows the meaning of that word.

Indeed, it appears as though the Portuguese reigned supreme over Shaw in Scotland.

Posting an Instagram story that featured an image of himself and several other United teammates, Fernandes said: “Where are you Luke Shaw?”

Shaw responded with a picture of his own, posing alongside Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard – plus others – but back came United playmaker Fernandes.

He said: “Probably you choose the wrong photo, at least not the one from today. Anyway 3-1 for me.”

Scheduled for an opening day clash with bitter rivals Leeds United, on August 14, there is one final pre-season task for United to undertake before then – against Everton at Old Trafford tomorrow afternoon (12.45pm).

At least Fernandes and Shaw ought to be on the same team for that outing!
