Bukayo Saka leaves Man United star Jadon Sancho red-faced after what Arsenal ace did vs Norwich – Football.London

Bukayo Saka endured yet another stellar display as Arsenal thrashed Norwich 5-0 on Boxing Day.

The English international broke the deadlock in the sixth minute, finishing off a swift counter-attack that had seen Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard combine in transition.

Saka also netted the Gunners’ third goal, evading several Norwich defenders before firing in a driven effort into the bottom left corner of the goal.

The 20-year-old has now notched a whopping nine goals and assists in the Premier League this season, already surpassing his league tally from last term, when he was awarded the club’s player of the year award for his consistent displays from the right flank.

The Hale End academy graduate’s excellent form in front of goal has left compatriot Jadon Sancho red-faced, with the Manchester United star previously comparing their goal tallies whilst on international duty.

Sancho told England’s YouTube channel over the summer: “So he’s (Saka) saying that he scores more goals than me in training.”

“Listen, we did a right foot finishing drill and he’s finished on how many goals?” the Arsenal star asked.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund winger followed this up by replying: “How many goals did you get this season?”

Sancho provided eight goals and ten assists in the Bundesliga over the course of the 2020/21 campaign but has struggled to emulate that form for the Red Devils so far this campaign, bagging just one league goal and failing to register a single assist in the English top-flight.

The former Manchester City youngster’s struggles meant he was dropped from Gareth Southgate’s squad for last month’s World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino.
