Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Sunday, August 1.
Chelsea fans demand Erling Haaland signing after Jack Grealish blow
Chelsea fans have reacted in a worrying way after seeing Manchester City submit a £100million bid for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.
John Percy of The Telegraph has reported that an official bid of £100m was submitted by the City hierarchy for the Birmingham-born player, with it being believed that £100m will most likely seal the deal despite Villa’s wishes to keep Grealish and get him signed up to a new contract.
If Grealish’s move to the blue half of Manchester goes through, it would be the biggest transfer in English football history to date.
Of course, that could be eclipsed by Chelsea if they are willing to splash out £150m on Erling Haaland.
One fan tweeted out: ”Chelsea finished 19 (!) points behind City. Chelsea finished 7 points behind United. City have signed Grealish. United have signed Sancho. Chelsea have signed some unknown backup keeper.’

AC Milan aim to complete another double swoop
The Rossoneri have already signed Chelsea duo Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori so far this summer, and it doesn’t seem like they are finished yet in dealing with Marina Granovskaia.
This is because Milan still have some positions left to reinforce and they are targeting Tiemoue Bakayoko and Hakim Ziyech to fill those vacant roles.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri are still in talks with the entourage of Bakayoko, who would like a return to Milan. They are hoping that Chelsea will open to a loan with an option to buy.
The same goes for Milan’s pursuit of Ziyech, who is considered as an important squad player in Thomas Tuchel’s setup.
As opposed to the Bakayoko deal, it would probably be a paid loan for the Moroccan, seeing as his price tag is higher than the French midfielder who was on loan at Napoli last season.
Leeds hijack Chelsea’s talks for Adama Traore
The Wolves man was viewed initially viewed as the main alternative to Achraf Hakimi, who the Blues missed out on as PSG snapped up the signature of the Moroccan wing-back.
Since then, Traore to Chelsea talks went scarce but we have a big update here as Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United have entered the race.
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Duncan Castles announced that Marcelo Bielsa is looking to bolster his attack ahead of the forthcoming Premier League season and has eyed the Wolves winger, slamming the Blues’ chances of prizing Thomas Tuchel with a major signing.

Castles detailed Leeds’ stance on Traore: “They [Leeds] were prepared to pay an initial £30m for Adama, who is a player that is well known to Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta.
“He signed him from Aston Villa when he was in charge at Middlesbrough a few years back.”
