Chelsea fans fearful after seeing what next opponents Brentford did in the Premier League – Football.London

Chelsea fans are worried at the prospect of facing the high flying Brentford side that have just taken another huge scalp in the Premier League with their latest result.

Bryan Mbeumo’s early goal and a last-minute winner from substitute Yoane Wissa resulted in the Bees coming out on top in a close London derby against West Ham United.

This win added to the thrilling 3-3 draw against Liverpool will mean that Thomas Frank’s side will go into their next league game against their west London neighbours in a positive state of mind, with an upset even looking possible if the Blues fail to turn up.

After the home draw against the Reds a week ago, the German boss admitted that his side are buzzing as they now look ahead to the Chelsea clash.

“Definitely that (the Liverpool game) was a confidence boost. But I think the most promising thing is that we’ve been very consistent in our performances,” Frank said, as per the Independent.

“So that was the sixth performance in a row where we’ve performed well in terms of competing on and off the ball, good work ethic, pressed forward – all of that and we did it against the top of the league Liverpool.”

Following the two wins that the Premier League newcomers have racked up going into this latest international break, a large number of Chelsea fans took to social media to say the same thing about their next opponents from the capital.

Here’s what a select few had to say.

@CFCLucifer admitted: ‘I will happily take 1 point when we face Brentford next week no thanks.’

@cfc_foofy reckons: ‘Brentford will be hard, hard game man especially after an international break. Such a physical team and half our squad will be exhausted.’

@CFCSat has made a worrying prediction: ‘Chelsea always have a bogey team like WBA or Bournemouth. It might be Brentford this time.’

@CfcGats put: ‘Brentford (followed by two flushed face emojis).

‘and we have it after international break it’s going to be a tough one.’

@CFC_Jayz wrote: ‘Brentford is gonna be a much tougher game than some think.’

@yannickd_cfc finally put: ‘And we playing Brentford next eh. After an international break.’

The last meeting between the pair came in the 2017 FA Cup where Chelsea ran out 4-0 winners on that occasion and supporters will certainly hope for a similar result come Saturday, October 16.
