The clock continues to tick on the 2021 summer transfer window.
There are now just five days remaining in the window and Chelsea look set to be busy right up until deadline day on August 31.
The Blues have already managed to secure the signing of Romelu Lukaku for a club record fee from Inter Milan, and he has enjoyed a quick start to life back at Stamford Bridge.
However, the business does not look set to end there as the Blues remain strongly linked to Saul Niguez and Jules Kounde.
We will be aiming to bring you the latest on their respective futures with Atletico Madrid and Sevilla throughout the day.
Meanwhile, there could also be some major news on departures. Defender Kurt Zouma appears close to a move across London to West Ham United, whilst Tiemoue Bakayoko’s departure to AC Milan has been in the offing for some time.
With that being said, make sure you keep the blog locked throughout the day to ensure that you don’t miss a single development from Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel working on deals
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that the Blues are still working on transfers head of Tuesday night’s deadline.
“We have some ideas, we are trying, not all decisions are taken, there are some negotiations going on,” Tuchel said ahead of facing Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.
“Hoping in the meaning, that we need something to make the coach happy, absolutely not, I’m happy with the squad like it is. I have a lot of confidence that we are absolutely competitive on a high level.
“Still all eyes are open, we are aware of all situations, you never know in football, but we’re focused on the game tomorrow. All good so far.”
French giants Paris Saint-Germain are plotting an astonishing late move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, according to the Daily Telegraph.
PSG are set to lose Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid and the report claims that they could try and make a last-gasp attempt to bring Haaland to Paris.
The Norwegian wonderkid had been linked to Chelsea all summer before the Blues eventually signed Romelu Lukaku instead.
Kenedy arrives in Brazil
Chelsea winger Kenedy has reportedly landed in Brazil ahead of his proposed move to Flamengo.
Brazilian outlet claim Globo Esporte that the youngster arrived in Sao Paulo this morning and was seen wearing the shirt of his new team.
He will join on a season-long loan with a reported option to buy of around £7.5million.
Jorginho’s agent Joao Santo was coy when TuttoMercatoWeb asked about the midfielder’s future at Chelsea.
“He has a two-year contract with Chelsea. As a philosophy, the club renews contracts when one year is missing. We will see what happens next year.”
Santos was then quizzed if the Italian midfielder would consider returning to Serie A in the future.
“Obviously, yes. When you win a European championship with Italy, the next step can be to play in Italy. But now we don’t get hot. Everything changes in a short time,” he added.
Chelsea’s third-round EFL Cup tie against Aston Villa has been given a date.
The Blues will host Dean Smith’s side on Wednesday September 22, falling between two tough fixtures – against Manchester City and Spurs.
Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has undergone a medical ahead of his proposed move to West Ham, according to the Evening Standard.
The Frenchman is set to join the Hammers for a fee believed to be in the region of £25million, which may help the Blues fund a move for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde.
Drogba sends Mendy message
Chelsea icon Didier Drogba has sent Edouard Mendy a congratulatory message after the Senegalese shot-stopper won UEFA goalkeeper of the year award.
Drogba commented on Mendy’s Instagram with a caption that read: “It’s massively deserved. So proud of you.”
Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has been included in England’s Under-21 squad for the upcoming international break.
Chelsea loan nears
Reading are edging closer to finalising a deal to sign Chelsea fullback Baba Rahman on a season-long loan deal, according to The Reading Chronicle.
The report claims that Rahman, who joined the Blues in 2015, will undergo a medical with Reading in the coming days.
He has found minutes at Stamford Bridge hard to come by, making just 23 appearances for the west London club across the last six years.
AS claim Monchi, the sporting director of Sevilla, didn’t attend the Champions League draw yesterday and was working on transfers as Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is leading negotiations for Jules Kounde, and is in ‘permanent contact’ with the Sevilla chief.
The report claims that the Blues are edging closer to the Spanish club’s demands of Kounde, which are reportedly in the region of £50-57m plus bonuses.
Atalanta eye Hudson-Doi
Atalanta are preparing a loan bid for Chelsea starlet Calum Hudson-Odoi, according to Corriere della Sera via Get Italian Football News .
The Englishman has struggled for consistent game time under Thomas Tuchel and the report claims that they want him on loan without any option or obligation to buy, something Chelsea may accept.
Ziyech falls out with Morocco
Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech has fallen out with Morocco head coach Vahid Halilhodzic, according to local publication 11 Lions.
Ziyech was left out of his nation’s squad for the upcoming international break and the aforementioned report claims that he has ‘zero chance’ of playing for his country whilst Halilhodzic is the manager.
The report claims that the pair have had a strained relationship for a while, with Ziyech showing up late to camp following the Champions League final.
Wright calls for no Havertz
Arsenal legend Ian Wright doesn’t think Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel should start Kai Havertz against Liverpool on Saturday.
Wright said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show: “They can’t play Havertz.
‘They are not going to play like they played against Arsenal away from home because they could take liberties with Arsenal, because Arsenal’s lack of organisation, they won’t do this against Liverpool.”
It appears to be a case of one midfielder in, and one midfielder out at Stamford Bridge.
CalcioMercato have reported that Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected in Italy this weekend to pen a two-year loan deal with AC Milan. The Frenchman is set to sign a new contract with Chelsea before his departure.
However, the Serie A giants hold an option to buy which is apparently going to become an obligation should certain conditions be met.

Saul deal ‘agreed’
Back to Stamford Bridge now and Chelsea are reportedly close to sealing their third arrival of the window.
As per 90min, Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Saul Niguez on-loan. All that is set to conclude the deal is an agreement over any potential future transfer.
This could be one to certainly keep an eye on.

Mbappe deal close
We know, we know, it’s not quite Chelsea but one of the biggest deals in world football is apparently close to being completed that could have a huge impact on the Champions League this season.
