Chelsea’s best and worst case transfer deadline day
It’s transfer deadline day! But will it be a good one for Chelsea?
Although there’s only a matter of hours left in this summer’s window, we can expect the Blues to be fairly active throughout the day, with incomings possible, and outgoings likely.
Chelsea fans have been treated to a club record signing already after Romelu Lukaku’s £97.5million return to Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, the club have also completed the signing of third-choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli on a free transfer.
In terms of outgoings, several loan deals have been completed, including the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Billy Gilmour, Danny Drinkwater and Conor Gallagher, whilst a number of others – notably Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Kurt Zouma – have moved on from the club in permanent transfers.
Marina Granovskaia’s work behind closed doors clearly hasn’t affected the Blues on the field of play as Thomas Tuchel’s side have followed up victory in the UEFA Super Cup with seven points out of a possible nine to start the new Premier League season as they look to build a title challenge.
So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the best and worst case deadline days Chelsea could well have.
