Hello and welcome along to football.london ‘s Chelsea transfer news live blog.
The summer transfer window now has less than a month remaining and for the Blues, a big few weeks lie ahead.
The Romelu Lukaku pursuit is now hotting up and we’re expecting to hear plenty more on that possible move throughout today.
Marina Granovskaia has secured one signing so far this summer, with goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli arriving at Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea will be hoping to add to that completed deal in the next few weeks.
Away from transfers, we will have plenty more reaction from last night’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues went 2-0 up through a Hakim Ziyech double, but Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn’s goals for Spurs ensured the north London side secured a draw elsewhere in the capital.
With that all in mind, make sure you stick with us here at football.london throughout the day.

Whilst Chelsea have seen multiple bids for Romelu Lukaku turned down, they have themselves been rejecting offers for youngster Ike Ugbo from Genk.
It’s claimed that the Blues are holding out for £5m for the striker and there’s hope that an agreement will be reached.
Chelsea pay respects to Michael Ballack’s family
Hakim Ziyech netted a brace against Tottenham Hotspur last night.
That added to his hat-trick when Chelsea beat Peterborough United last month means it has been a very good pre-season for the attacking midfielder.
And he reflected on finding the net twice in the London derby.
The second goal was a good combination and ended up in the net, and the first one I think they lost it and Timo made a good run and made space for me to shoot, so they were two good goals.
It was a nice evening, from the beginning I enjoyed it, and I showed also in the performance that I was enjoying it .
When Lukaku deal could be completed
Reports in Belgium claim the plan is for Chelsea to complete a deal for Romelu Lukaku over the next 2-3 days.
Thoughts with Michael Ballack and family
There has been some devastating news about the passing of Michael Ballack’s son.
Our thoughts go out to Michael and his family and friends
Inter Milan are expected to accept Chelsea’s renewed bid of £100m-£110m for Romelu Lukaku.
That is according to the Evening Standard.
The report states that whilst Lukaku was not prepared to agitate for a move, he has now made it clear that he wants to join Thomas Tuchel’s side this summer.
Furthermore, it’s claimed that he is expected to sign a five-year contract worth around £212,000-a-week.

Abraham meeting prepared
Dream XI with Lukaku
With the Inter Milan striker looking likely to switch Italy for England this summer, football.london has looked into what the best Chelsea starting eleven could be for the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
Read the piece here.
Tammy Abraham has been told that the ‘time is right’ for him to leave Chelsea, after falling down the pecking order since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at the club.
Aged just 23, the Englishman still has a lot of time to resurrect his career elsewhere, which is what former Chelsea defender, Glen Johnson, thinks he should do.
Tammy however can get enough goals in the Premier League so I’m sure there will be many teams after him, but for him I think the time is right for him to leave Chelsea
Loan deal to be announced
According to The Athletic, Chelsea striker Armando Broja is set to leave the club on a loan deal soon.
Broja was backed to be challenging for a place in the Blues’ senior squad next season, so this could be another indication that Romelu Lukaku is set to join the west London club this month.
Romelu Lukaku has requested that Inter Milan accept an appropriate offer for him from the Blues – which will likely need to be in the region of €130million (£110m).
This represents somewhat of a U-turn on Lukaku’s part as just over a year ago he appeared to rule out the prospect of a return to the Premier League following spells with Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United.
During a Q&A session on Twitter in April of last year, Lukaku was asked if he would ever play in the Premier League again.
To which he responded by saying:
I don’t think so but I loved my time at Everton for real.
More Abraham interest
Another club has entered the race for Tammy Abraham.
This time it’s Southampton who are on the market for a new striker after selling Danny Ings to Southampton.
However, the Saints have reportedly been told that Abraham is not available for a loan deal, with Chelsea only open to permanent offers.
£110 Lukaku bid
football.london understands that Chelsea have seen three bids for Romel Lukaku rejected.
However, despite those bids being knocked back, Goal are reporting that the west London outfit are readying an offer of €130million (£110m) in the coming days.
Will that be enough?
Surprise signing confirmed
In perhaps the most surprising deal of the summer, Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Danny Ings.
The reported Chelsea target was into the final 12 months of his Southampton contract and refused to put pen-to-paper on a new deal and has now left the south coast club.
Marina Granovskaia could be about to hand Premier League rivals Manchester United a transfer windfall if the Blues complete a £100million deal to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club this summer from Inter Milan.
James Ducker of The Telegraph has added a little more United context to the most recent update on the situation.
If he [Lukaku] was to move for £100m this summer Manchester United would be in line for a small windfall of around €5m owing to a release clause they had inserted in the deal that took him to Inter in 2019.
Tuchel on Lukaku
The Chelsea boss was asked for an update on Romelu Lukaku following his side’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham last night.
However, Thomas Tuchel gave nothing away.
I will not talk about players who don’t play in my squad. Romelu Lukaku is a fantastic player but he’s an Inter player and, with all due respect, I will not talk about him in this situation.
Premier League title prediction
Glen Johnson believes that the Blues will compete for the Premier League title next season if they sign a striker before the end of the window.
I think if Chelsea get a new striker I think they could really take the title race.
I fear for myself about United! They’re banging on the door and they weren’t even in form. I think their home record last year was awful and they were the ones who took the race to City. I think if they get it right and improve week in, week out, they can be a force this season.
According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea still see the signing of Jules Kounde as a ‘priority’ before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Kounde has been heavily linked with a move to the Blues recently, and are prepared to use Kurt Zouma as a makeweight in a deal for the Sevilla defender.
However, there is no agreement yet on Zouma’s value, meaning the clubs are struggling to agree on a deal.
West Ham’s Zouma decision
According to Get French Football News, West Ham United still see Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma as their ‘priority’ signing this summer.
However, the Hammers are now moving elsewhere, with talks ‘reopening’ between the east Londoners and Marseille over a move for Duje Caleta-Car.
Despite this, West Ham boss David Moyes is still said to be determined to bring Zouma to the London Stadium this month.
Lukaku makes huge Chelsea decision
According to a report from Sky Sports on Tuesday evening, Romelu Lukaku has told Inter Milan he would like them to accept a suitable offer if it comes in from Chelsea.
The Blues are determined to re-sign the Belgium striker, but have already had three offers turned down by Inter, football.london understands.
However, Lukaku reportedly wants to return to west London this month and is now waiting for the Serie A champions to agree a deal with his former club.
