Good morning all and welcome to football.london‘s live blog on all things Chelsea on Thursday.
It’s been a frustrating transfer window for Thomas Tuchel so far as he aims to bolster his Blues squad ahead of the 2021/22 season.
We’ve so far only seen outgoing from Stamford Bridge with Fikayo Tomori making a move to AC Milan. That deal should be made official today with the European transfer window now open.
Meanwhile, Chelsea continue to be linked with a whole host of potential signings. Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is the name on everyone’s lips but the Blues’ hopes of signing him might have taken a huge blow yesterday with Manchester United reportedly having agreed a deal for the Norwegian’s club team-mate Jadon Sancho.
Elsewhere, Chelsea also took what looked to be a final blow in the race for Achraf Hakimi with Inter Milan chief Giuseppe Marotta admitting that a deal with Paris Saint Germain is close. We will bring you the latest on that deal.

Tuchel to offload three players to make room for Bayern star
Thomas Tuchel is reportedly willing to sell Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley in order to raise funds to free up space and funds to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich.
That is according to the Daily Express who also report that Bayern could cash in on Coman if they fail to agree a new contract with the player.
Gilmour spotted at Norwich training ground
Billy Gilmour, who is set to sign for Norwich on loan, has been spotted at the club’s training ground ahead of his season-long move.
Flamengo pursuit of Kenedy confirmed
Flamengo’s pursuit for Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy has now been confirmed by the Brazilian club.
“Kenedy is a very interesting athlete. Flamengo are talking. It’s also very difficult. He’s from Chelsea, he’s an interesting player who’s had a great season,” said director Bruno Spindel, whilst interviewed by Papparazzo Rubro Negro on Youtube (via Sport witness).
Ramos agrees terms with PSG
Chelsea target Sergio Ramos has agreed terms on a two-year deal with PSG, according to @mohamedbouhafsi. He’s expected to complete a medical in the coming days.
Alonso opens up on difficult season amid transfer links
Marcos Alonso has admitted he didn’t play as much as he would’ve liked last season.
In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, the defender said: “It’s tough. I think we all want to play. But (I’m) happy things changed after a while and I was ready to help the team.”
Alonso, who has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, will be looking for more minutes come next season.
Chelsea could be in line to receive another transfer windfall from AC Milan.
The Blues have already banked £25million from the deal taking central defender Fikayo Tomori to the San Siro on a permanent basis after he impressed during a loan spell in the second half of last season.
Another player on Milan’s radar is forgotten midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Although, the 26-year-old isn’t likely to be in Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the new season as reports in Italy claim he’s rejected an offer to extend his contract in west London.
So with Chelsea unable to agree fresh terms with Bakayoko, they must sell him this summer or risk losing him for free next year.
Declan Rice has a dream.
And it’s to play Champions League football, something his current club West Ham United can not offer in the 2021/22 season.
But it will be on offer at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea have been handed a boost in their attempts to sign Rice this summer.
Amid talk of Aston Villa preparing an offer to sign Tammy Abraham, some Chelsea fans think money is being raised to make a move for Erling Haaland.

Tammy Abraham’s time at Chelsea could soon be coming to an end.
According to reports Aston Villa are in ‘advanced talks’ with the Blues and are said to be preparing an offer close to €45million (£38m) to bring him back to Villa Park.
And judging by Abraham’s message to Villa fans a couple of months ago, one would assume he would jump at the chance to pick up from where he left off in the 2018/19 season.
@AVFCOfficial fans, I appreciate you guys! thank you & all the best in the future.
Pre-season fixture confirmed
Jorginho insists he doesn’t think about winning the Ballon d’Or despite lifting the Champions League with Chelsea and starring for Italy at this summer’s European Championships.
I don’t think about it. Everything that is happening is the consequence of hard work.
My priority is the group and celebrating together with my teammates and friends. This is more beautiful than celebrating alone.
Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Declan Rice as football.london understands the midfielder has turned down two new contract offers from West Ham United.
Rice is Thomas Tuchel’s first-choice midfield target this summer.
However, West Ham value the England international in excess of £100million and have little intention of selling.
Seven crucial transfer decisions Chelsea must make
July 1 is always a big date in the football calendar as it is on this day that countless players across the European game become free agents after the expiration of their contracts.
There is no shortage of talent that is – as of today – unattached. Top of the list is Lionel Messi, although there is still an expectation that he and Barcelona come to an agreement that extends his stay at the Camp Nou.
But the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and Jerome Boateng are on the hunt for new clubs.
That approach is why this summer is going to be a big one for the Blues. There are several high-profile players at Stamford Bridge – many of whom were brought in for big money – whose contracts expire at the end of the current campaign.
Haaland ‘expects’ move
According to The Transfer Window Podcast, Haaland ‘expects to join Chelsea’ before the 2021/22 Premier League campaign begins.
Despite other reports, hosts Ian McGarry and Duncan Castles understand that talks are advancing in the hope of a deal being completed. However, the sticking point could be that his agent – Mino Raiola – wants a release clause within his Chelsea contract, something that the Blues are not willing to do.
Talks have reportedly been ongoing since June and Chelsea are now looking to strike an agreement with Dortmund.
£38m for Tammy Abraham?
Contract talks confirmed
It doesn’t seem like Chelsea will be successful in their attempts to bring Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez to the club this summer.
This is after Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirmed they have opened talks with the striker to extend his contract at the San Siro.
We want to keep Lautaro and we’ve opened talks to extend his contract.
Eden Hazard has hailed Sergio Ramos as “one of the best defenders in history” as Chelsea continue to be among the potential suitors for the Spanish defender.
I wish him the best. We were together for two years. He is a leader.
He is one of the best defenders in football’s history. I hope he carries on enjoying it.
Away from incomings, it appears that another outgoing is close to completion.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is set to have a medical with Norwich City ahead of a season-long loan at Carrow Road.

Most will certainly be intrigued to say how that Tomori money will be spent but it looks unlikely to be used to finance a move for Erling Haaland.
With Manchester United having reportedly sealed a deal for Jadon Sancho, it looks unlikely that the German giants will sign-off another big money sale – for this year at least.

Well, it’s July 1 and that means the European transfer window is now open.
That also means that Fikayo Tomori is now officially no longer a Chelsea player and has completed his move to AC Milan.
The English defender has penned a four-year contract in Italy in a deal worth £25m.
