An incredible gesture by N’Golo Kante has seen the Chelsea star hand a fan his Champions League medal in appreciation for a gift that was presented to him, Republic World reports.
Footage that has since surfaced shows the moment Kante received a smock from the fan and reciprocated the gesture by allowing the supporter wear his Champions League medal.
Kante shared his precious prize after receiving the gift from the fan as he, in turn, showed appreciation in an amazing way.
The Frenchman was part of the Chelsea squad that defeated Manchester City in the final of the European competition in Porto last month.
Kai Havertz struck moments before halftime when he rounded the goalkeeper, thanks to Mason Mount’s through-pass to hand the Stamford Bridge side the title.
Kante played a central role in Chelsea’s European triumph, with his outstanding performances winning him the man-of-the-match accolade in both semifinal matches against Real Madrid and in the final.
His display saw the midfielder receive backing from all quarters for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.
Recently, Paul Pogba became the highest-profile football star to publicly throw his weight behind the Chelsea star to win the individual gong.
“What I would like to say to the whole world is that the ‘NG’ we have seen in recent months has always been the same. We talk a lot about his performances but he has always been as good as ever,” the Man United star told Eurosport France’s FC Team Stream Podcast.
“There was no Cristiano and Messi in the semi-final, so it’s good to see the performances of the midfielders or even the defenders. I said a long time ago that it would be appropriate, if Chelsea won, for him (Kante) to win the Ballon d’Or. It would be deserved, too,” he added.
