Chelsea striker closing in on exit as Blues eye Erling Haaland transfer alternative – Football.London

Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Wednesday, July 21.

Ike Ugbo set for exit

Having scooped considerable amounts for academy graduates Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi already this summer from AC Milan and Crystal Palace respectively, Chelsea are reportedly set to wave goodbye to another youngster in the form of striker Ike Ugbo.

It is reported the Nigerian is set to join Belgian outfit KRC Genk on a permanent deal after personal terms were agreed.

His move signals a return to Belgium having netted 17 goals in 34 appearances for Cercle Brugge last season.

Blues eyes Kalajdzic

Whilst Thomas Tuchel is allowing one forward to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, he is continuing his search for a new striker elsewhere.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland pretty much since the final whistle went on the 2020/21 campaign.

A deal is proving tricky but the Blues are eyeing an alternative in Stuttgart’s Sasa Kalajdzic, according to The Athletic. The Austrian netted 16 goals in the Bundesliga last season and has just two years left to run on his current deal.

Pedraza asking price revealed

Away from attacking recruits, Chelsea are continuing their task to strengthen at full-back.

Having previously been linked to Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola, the Blues are now apparently interested in Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza.

The Spaniard, who previously represented Leeds United, is reportedly available for €15m (£13m) this summer, according to CalcioMercato.
