Here’s all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has held talks with Crystal Palace and Leeds United over a potential loan deal this season, football.london have revealed.
The 21-year-old is currently in pre-season training with the Blues and has been with Thomas Tuchel’s main group since the players returned to Cobham earlier in the month.
Gallagher has keen to impress Tuchel in pre-season in an attempt to break into the first team picture ahead of the new season.
However, having enjoyed a successful season-long loan at West Bromwich Albion in 2020/21, he is a player in demand once again with Leeds and Palace battling it out for his signature.
Sources have told football.london that former put together a very impressive presentation to Gallagher to try to convince him to head to Yorkshire.
Meanwhile, he spoke to new Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira and sporting director Dougie Freedman this week on FaceTime while in Ireland with the Chelsea training camp.
Chelsea could look to take advantage of Manchester United’s ongoing pursuit of Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane.
The Blues have been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old, with Spanish outlet Marca saying recently that the west London club have emerged as late contenders to make a move for the Madrid defender.
However, as things stand, Man United are the frontrunners to sign Varane as they have reportedly agreed personal terms with the France international.
However, the European powerhouses are yet to strike a deal for his services, with Marca are reporting that United are in ‘no hurry’ to tie up a deal for £50m because Los Blancos are holding out for £80million.
Marina Granovskaia could look to take advantage of the uncertainty between United and Madrid and swoop in for Varane.

‘Mind-boggling’ Haaland transfer
Chelsea have been tipped to complete a ‘mind-boggling’ transfer for Erling Haaland by former player Tony Cascarino.
“Chelsea have earned a lot of money in the last year or so, with the Champions League and selling Eden Hazard,” he told talkSPORT. “I cannot believe they’re not going to break the bank and sign someone like Haaland.
“They are going to do a really big transfer, in my opinion. “It’s been so quiet, the storm is coming – because Roman [Abramovich] has always done it, he’s always backed the club.
“I would be absolutely gobsmacked if they go in with the squad they’ve got today, even though they are European champions.
“Giroud has gone, Tammy is rumoured to be leaving as well, they’re making space. For them to do that, they are planning a mind-boggling transfer, and I think it will be Haaland.
“They’re going to offer big money for somebody and I suspect it would be him.”
