Chelsea have donated their prize money for the winning the 2019-20 FA Women’s Super League to Refuge, a charity the Blues have been supporting since April.
Emma Hayes’ side were recently crowned champions of the shortened WSL this term on a points-per-game basis and got £100,000.
After receiving the prize fund, the team gave out the money to the charity that provides supports services for people suffering from domestic violence.
“It’s a charity that’s close to the hearts and minds of the Women’s team, and is very important to our owner Mr [Roman] Abramovich and everyone at the club,” Hayes told Chelsea’s official website.
“It makes me proud our club is supporting those less fortunate in times of need.”
