Kurt Zouma’s West Ham move

Chelsea are understood to be considering offering Kurt Zouma compensation in order to ensure his proposed move to West Ham does not collapse.

football.london understands that the deal for Zouma looks set to be completed despite the involvement of ‘multiple agents’ in the transfer.

The two clubs have come to an agreement in principle over the transfer, with a fee of £25.7million agreed between the sides and recent developments also suggests that the Frenchman underwent his medical checks in Paris on Thursday afternoon.

According to Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast, Ian McGarry said that Chelsea are willing to pay Zouma ‘compensation’ in order for the deal to go through and free up space for their own transfer move for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

McGarry said: “Proving herself to be a very canny operator in the market, Marina Granovskaia has decided that, if Zouma needs to extend the money he is getting paid at West Ham, Chelsea can facilitate part of his demands by paying him some compensation on his current contract in forms of a pay-off.

Jules Kounde close to £42million Blues move

The dominoes are falling perfectly into place and Zouma’s imminent east London switch has prompted the west Londoners into making official contact with Sevilla for fellow French star Jules Kounde.

According to ESPN, a €50million (£42million) deal is now close between the two sides, with the Andalusian-based club demanding that the large majority of the fee is paid up front instead of instalments.

The exact fee and the structure of payments are yet to be formally agreed so that is still to be disclosed.

New third kit released

Away from all the transfer news, the Blues have now released their new third kit which certainly looks unique and youthful in its design.

To go alongside the traditional blue home strip and the new yellow away jersey, Chelsea have released a green and black number as their alternative kit for the new campaign.

Chelsea’s official spiel on the kit says: “The green and black has long been associated with statement Nike outerwear pieces, the crimson adds vibrancy and that pop of colour is reflective of the club’s youthful energy.

“The ‘Pride of London’ logo is also present on the inside of the jersey, serving as a reminder of the club’s values and status in the capital.

“As Chelsea aim to add further honours to the Champions League title we won last season, the club’s 2021/22 third kit is reflective of a modern era for the club, characterised by youthful energy and everything that represents.”
