Christian Pulisic has admitted that he might be able to beat Tammy Abraham in a very short-distance race, but if the two were to prove who’s quicker over a longer distance, the Englishman would win, thanks to his longer strides.
The two might be denied the chance to have that race in the near future, given all the transfer speculation around Abraham’s future.
Chelsea are willing to part ways with the England international should they receive an offer of £40million for his services.
Abraham, who has two years remaining on his current contract in west London, has featured just seven times under Thomas Tuchel in competitive competition since the German coach was appointed Blues boss in January, and is thought to be surplus to requirements as the club look to raise funds to help their Erling Haaland bid.
However, despite all the speculation, the 23-year-old looks very comfortable at Cobham, and has still been able to joke around with his teammates, namely Pulisic.
The Blues duo answered a few burning questions from fans on Chelsea TV, one of which was “who is faster? Tammy or Christian?”
The two both smirked, before Abraham replied: “I’ll be honest, we’re both really fast.”
Pulisic then added his response, too, saying: “I would say, If you give me one to 30 metres, I think I can take him.
“After that, his big strides are probably going to pass me.”
Abraham responded by jokingly holding his laugh and saying: “I think it’ll going be an even race, a very even race.”
It’ll be interesting to see who is the quicker of the two, but with time running out on Abraham’s Chelsea career, perhaps we’ll have to see them go up against each other in different threads next season.
