Head coach of the senior national female team, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo today trimmed her squad to 25 as the WAFU competition looms. The WAFU gold medalist called a 30-woman contingent for camping a week ago and have since being putting her team through the paces.
Having played a number of matches, coach Mercy and her technical team axed five players from the original list ahead of the forthcoming WAFU tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.
Two strikers, midfield couple of Joyce Antwiwaa (Ashtown Ladies) and
Musa Rabi (Fabulous Ladies), and a defender were the unlucky players dropped by the technical team.
Coincidentally, all five players released from camp ply their trade in the Northern Zone of Women’s League.
