Black Queens skipper Elizabeth Add could not make the five shortlisted players for the 2019 Africa player of the year.
The midfield dynamo had previously made it to the preliminary shortlist but failed to break into the top 5.
Reigning Africa player of the year Thembi Kgatlana, Barcelona forward Assisat Oshoala, Malawian Tabitha Chawinga, Cameroonian duo Ajara Nchout and Gabrielle Ouguene were the five shortlisted players for the award.
The exemption of Elizabeth Addo means Ghana will have to wait a little longer to have third player win the Africa Footballer of the year award.
Ex-Black Queens captain and legends Alberta Sacked and Grace Adwoa Bayor were the last Ghanaian to win the top award picking it in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
