Erling Haaland drops major Dortmund update that could be huge blow to Chelsea transfer chances – Football.London

Chelsea transfer target Erling Haaland has handed the Blues a huge blow with the striker excited to work with new Dortmund boss Marco Rose.

The former Red Bull Salzburg forward has been regularly linked to Chelsea throughout the summer transfer window as Thomas Tuchel aims to bolster his forward line.

Current first choice Timo Werner was hit with inconsistency in his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, whilst Tammy Abraham looks to have an uncertain future in west London after falling down the pecking order.

Elsewhere, Olivier Giroud’s permanent move to AC Milan has been confirmed.

Haaland has thus emerged as a priority target for the Chelsea hierarchy albeit a move looking somewhat difficult with current employers Borussia Dortmund not keen on selling.

Now, the striker himself has handed the Blues another blow by revealing that he is anxious to once again work with former boss Marco Rose after the German replaced compatriot Edin Terzic at the helm.

Speaking to YouTube show Stadium Astro, the Norwegian said: “I talked a little bit with him and I know him from before because I had him for six months at Salzburg.

“He’s a nice guy and I look forward to working with him.”

Whilst Rose has taken the reins at the Westfalenstadion, Haaland has instructed his teammates to focus on their own preparations for pre-season which could suggest his head lies nowhere else but Dortmund.

“First of all now we have to have a good pre-season and we have to get to know each other, everyone,” the striker continued.

“We won the DFB-Pokal last season and that was very important for us, for the club, for the fans so that was important. We will have to see.”
