Black Queens midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe has joined Women’s Premier Soccer League outfit Sky Blue FC ahead of the inaugural 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup.
The former Hasaacas Ladies midfielder joined the NWSL side from USL League club Asheville, where she was named in the club’s team of the decade.
She went to tryout on 12th March with Sky Blue and was selected to join pre-season on March 9
Cudjoe, 25, is a three-time veteran at the FIFA Women’s competitions- having featured twice for the Black Maidens and playing once at the global stage for the Black Princesses.
The 2015 SWAG Female footballer of the Year has been named in the WPSL All Star Team on three occasions and clinched the NJCAA Player of the Year 2014.
The talented midfielder is the first and only Ghanaian player to go through college and play professional in National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
She’s also the second Ghanaian player to play in the NWSL after Black Queens Skipper Elizabeth Addo who played for Seattle Reign in 2018.
The team will open the tournament against OL Reign at 10:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 30, at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.
CBS All Access will air the game in the United States and Canada with international viewing available on Twitch.
All eyes will definitely be on Sky Blue FC after a flurry of offseason trades and acquisitions.
The 25-game tournament will kick off on June 27, 2020 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.
While spectators will not be in attendance, fans can catch all the action via CBS and CBS All Access.
