Asisat Oshoala, Super Falcons forward and captain, has been named in the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 influential personalities of the year 2020 list.
The former Dalian Quanjian of the Chinese Women league forward took to her official Twitter handle on Tuesday to express her delight for making the prestigious list.
“Forever Grateful …..#ForbesAfrica 30 under 30 class of 2020 💪🏾🙏🏾❤️,” Oshoala wrote.
The former Arsenal ladies forward, who has been having an impressive career run since joining the women’s league in Spain, is the only African sports woman to have made the list.
She has scored twenty goals in 19 league games so far this season before the COVID-19 pandemic halted football leagues across the globe.
The 25-year-old also won her fourth CAF women’s player of the year award in January — to equal a record set by Perpetua Nkwocha, her former team mate.
Meanwhile, the coach of FC Robo Queens of Lagos and Chairperson of the Nigerian Women football league Aisha Falode through the league media, congratulated her on her feat.
Falode said” This upliftment is a well deserved recognition to a very hard working capital of the Nigerian women National team. It is the beginning of greater things in life for the four times African women player of the year”.

It can be recalled that the four time African women player of the year began her football career with FC Robo of Lagos before joining River Angels of Port Harcourt, Liverpool ladies, Arsenal, Dalian Quanjian and Barcelona feminine.
