Vivianne Miedema helped Arsenal win against Manchester City in the Women’s Super League on Sunday. The Orange International scored the only goal in the top 0-0 win.
Just before the break, Miedema scored the winning goal for Arsenal. The striker got the ball in the course of Kim Little and passed keeper Ellie Roebuck with a slider in the right corner.
For Miedema it was her second league hit of the season. In the Champions League she was already accurate seven times, including four in the last match against Slavia Prague (2-5 win).
Miedema, who is one of the twenty nominees for the Golden Ball for women, played the entire game at Arsenal and takes her tally to 49 goals in 49 starts for the Gunners.
With the win, Arsenal takes over second place from Manchester City. Both teams have twelve points after five games, but the reigning champion is one place higher due to a slightly better goal difference.
Arsenal and City are one point behind Chelsea, which is heading for a visit to West Ham United thanks to a 1-3 win.
