Top league football is back today and here is Futaa’s best slip!
Brentford vs Chelsea
The Bees have enjoyed a remarkable start to life in the Premier League, winning three of their seven encounters and tasting defeat just once. Notable results at home have been a 2-0 win over Arsenal and a 3-3 draw with Liverpool, and they also claimed an impressive win at West Ham last time out, the only away win of match week 7. Now the visitors are European champions Chelsea, but Thomas Frank’s men won’t be over-awed. The Blues got back to winning ways against Southampton and remain at the summit of the Premier League. Another highly entertaining Premier League clash is expected here in London. Chelsea has won each of their last six away London derbies in the Premier League and could become the first team in English Football League history (top four tiers) to win seven such matches in a row. Can they pull it off?
TIP: Over 2.5 match goals
Leicester City vs Man United
Leicester had to settle for a point and a 2-2 draw despite leading 2-0 at Crystal Palace last time out. Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy were on the score sheet, and Brendan Rodgers will be hoping for more from his senior strikers against a depleted Man United defense. Solskjaer’s visitors have dropped five points in their last two fixtures, losing at home to Aston Villa and then drawing 1-1 draw with Everton, also at the Theatre of Dreams. The corresponding fixture last season ended 2-2 and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the spoils shared again, considering that United will be without first-choice central pairing Raphaël Varane and Harry Maguire. Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is unbeaten in four of his six meetings with Ole Gunnar Solskaer despite never keeping a clean sheet (W3, D1, L2).
TIP: Both Teams To Score
Man City vs Burnley
City produced a stellar display at Anfield in a pulsating 2-2 draw with Liverpool last time out. Pep’s team have won the last eight meetings with the Clarets across all competitions by an aggregate score of 30-1. It’s a bizarre anomaly of a stat for a team that’s so well organized, but Sean Dyche’s side has new problems this season, having failed to win any of its first seven EPL outings and finding themselves in the relegation zone.
Aston Villa vs Wolves
Villa went down 2-1 at Tottenham last time out while Wolves claimed their second consecutive Premier League win. The last three meetings between these Midlands teams have featured under 2.5 goals, and Wolves haven’t conceded on each of their last two trips to Villa Park. Emiliano Martínez has kept a clean sheet in all three of his Premier League matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers. They’re the side he’s started against the most in the competition while keeping a 100% clean sheet record. A low-scoring match beckons.
