French soccer side Olympique Lyonnais have signed a multi-year deal with food delivery service Deliveroo to become a major partner of both the men’s and women’s teams.
For the British startup the new arrangement reinforces its presence in France, where it also recently signed up fellow Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
The contract sees Deliveroo branding appear on the back of the men’s shirt during Ligue 1 games and on the sleeve of the women’s shirt in both Division 1 matches and the first rounds of the Uefa Women’s Champions League. The brand will also benefit from great visibility within the Groupama Stadium and the Groupama Training Center, as well taking on supporter activations throughout the year.
Jean-Michel Aulas, Olympique Lyonnais president , said: “The appearance of a sponsor on both the men and women’s kits sends a really strong message.
“Deliveroo has always opted for an innovative and disruptive strategy seeking to push back the frontiers and challenge the status quo.”
Alessandro Celli, Deliveroo’s European managing director, added: “We are especially proud to be associating ourselves with a football club that has a history of excellence in terms of diversity, inclusion and equality.
“The men’s and women’s teams are amongst the best in Europe, and we are delighted to support them over the next few years. We can’t wait to experience more wonderful moments in the partnership.”
