The Executive Chairman of premier league side Dreams FC Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku was elected the new Ghana Football Association President after an election was held in Accra on Friday 25th October, 2019.
The election went into second round as the first round of the produced no clear winner after none of the aspirants got above 50% plus one of the total vote cast.
Kurt Okraku later pulled 59 votes while George Afriyie got 43 in second round but the latter conceded to Kurt to become Ghana FA president.
Moments after his victory, FIFA General Secretary took to Twitter to congratulate the newly elected president of the Ghana Football Association.
“Congratulations Kurt on your new role as Ghana FA President. I’m looking forward to working with you & your team to develop ⚽ in 🇬🇭”
Kurt E.S Okraku will run Ghana Football Association for the next 4 years after which another election will be conducted.
