Electroland Ghana Limited (NASCO), distributors of electronic appliances in the country, have extended support to the National Women’s League, which has started across the country.

The company announced the award packages for exceptional players and coaches in the 2019/2020 league season at a short ceremony held at the NASCO offices at Ring Road Central in Accra.

The awards are NASCO Woman of the Match, who will take home mobile phone and hair dryer, NASCO Women’s League Player of the Month who will receive 32 inch TV, hair dryer and trophy with NASCO Coach of the Month receiving 40 inch TV, hair dryer or shaving kit, depending on the sex of the winner, and trophy.

Announcing the packages, Head of Marketing of the company, Mrs Adiza Ibrahim Sadick noted that it was only fair that her outfit extended help to the Women’s League just as they had done for the men’s Premier League for the past two years.

“It is once again an opportunity and platform for us to announce our new partnership between our own brand NASCO and the Ghana Footballer Association. We proudly announce our new partnership with the GFA to support the Women’s Premier League in same way we have supported the men,” she said.

She continued: “For the past two years, NASCO has been supporting Ghana football by sponsoring the Man of the Match and the Coach of the Match of the Ghana Premier League.

And it is only fair that we extend such support to our women. We hear a lot of comments that there’s no support for the Women’s League so NASCO has taken this decision and we are excited about it.”

Receiving the items, Chairperson of the Women’s League Committee, Mrs Hillary  Boaten expressed appreciation to the management of the 2company for the support.

“I think that these are exciting times for the Women’s Premier League. We are here with a sincere and a grateful heart to say a huge thank you to NASCO and to say that we are happy that this time round we are not sidelined,” said Mrs Boaten.

“What we will be doing in terms of the voting patterns when it comes  to the Player of the Match and the Coach of the Match will be to go by the GFA’s cumulative way of selecting for the men as well.

The stakes will be high for the Ladies with this announcement because obviously everyone  will  be looking at winning a television set at the end of each month as well as a hair dryer, beautiful trophies and a mobile phone,” Mrs Boaten added.

For her part, Vice Chairperson of the Women’s League Committee, Madam Rosalind K. Amoh appealed to the management of the company to consider rewarding the Best Player and Top Scorer at the end of the season.

Present was member of the Women’s League Committee, Miss Cleopatra Nsiah Nketiah and Director of Communications at the GFA, Tamimu Issah.
