Women’s premier league giant immigration ladies beat sea lions 2-1 to win the maiden edition of Ama pele’s mini tournament at St thomas Aquainas park on Sunday afternoon.
Gifty Appiah and Faustina Okyere goals in both halves was enough to secure immigration ladies 2-1 victory over Sea lions.
The tournament which was organised by Ghana female international and Black queens captain featured six teams.
Three teams each from the top two divisions. Immigration ladies, police ladies and sea lions representing the premier league division with Ridge city Fc, Ideal ladies and Rock ladies as Division one teams.
The battle of supremacy emerged after the two WPL Clubs met in the final leaving the lower division teams to nothing.
Immigration ladies broke the deadlock in a cagy first half through Gifty Appiah. Faustina kyermeh sumptuous pass in the 19th minute found the striker who made no mistake to put the ball in the net.
Despite creating a lot of goal scoring chances, none of the sides were able to take advantage to end the first half 1-0 to immigration ladies advantage.
Sea lions came stronger in the second half and levelled the score in 19 minutes after recess. Faustina Kyeremah put immigration ladies ahead after Sea lions defence failed to clear.
Immigration ladies faustina kyeremeh won the most valuable player after her impressive displays in the tournament after her impressive display throughout the tournament.
Best midfielder went to Zainabu Mumuni of Rock Ladies with Sea Lions duo of Martha Annan and Cecilia Haghan taking away the Golden Gloves and best defender respectively.
