Jadon Sancho already knows what shirt number he will wear at Manchester United, according to reports.
United have had a £72.9million deal agreed to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund agreed for three weeks now and a medical has been completed but the deal is yet to be announced.
The 21-year-old was set to be officially unveiled last week but the Manchester Evening News understands that a ‘minor issue’ has led to a hold-up in finalising the paperwork which has delayed the announcement.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said there were ‘small details’ to address before the club could parade their new big signing.
“From what I understand only paperwork, small little details, hopefully we can announce something,” Solskjaer said after United’s pre-season friendly victory over Derby on Sunday. “Let’s get all the paperwork done and get him over the line and then I can say what I truly feel about the player.”
It’s hoped that Sancho will finally be announced this weekend but, according to The National, his shirt number has already been assigned.
It’s reported that the England winger will wear the No.16 during his first season at Old Trafford, a number most famously worn by Roy Keane and Michael Carrick at the club.
The number is likely to only be temporary, with Edinson Cavani currently occupying the No.7 shirt that Sancho wore at Dortmund, and Sancho should inherit 7 when Cavani leaves next year.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Paul Pogba, but they will reportedly need to sell other players before they can sanction a move.
Le10 Sport cite another report from Marca which claims the French giants are willing to sell any combination of nine players in order to fund a move for Pogba this summer.
It is suggested PSG would listen to offers for Ander Herrera, Rafinha, Julian Draxler, Danilo Pereira, Idrissa Gueye, Thilo Kehrer, Sergio Rico, Layvin Kurzawa or Mauro Icardi.
