Jadon Sancho Reveals Which Premier League Great Influenced His Game – SPORTbible

Manchester United’s new signing Jadon Sancho has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo played a significant role in the player he is today.

The England forward completed his move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund after more than a year of speculation.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been interested in bringing Sancho to Old Trafford since 2019 yet the club were never able to make an agreement with Dortmund after the German club valued him at £108 million last summer.

However in the aftermath of Euro 2020, the two clubs finally came to agreement which meant that Sancho could seal his £73 million “dream” return to the Premier League.

When speaking to MUTV, Sancho said that parts of his game have been based on club legend Cristiano Ronaldo who spent six successful years with the club.

When the former Manchester City winger was asked who he bases his game on, he said: “Who do I model my game on? I feel like everyone is different, I have different attributes to other players but Cristiano Ronaldo.

“What he’s done in his career is fantastic thing. He started at Sporting Lisbon and then he came to Manchester so it’s always good to see these iconic players come through iconic clubs. It’s nice to see.”

Sancho added that he was looking forward to potentially potentially making his Premier League debut against Leeds on 14 August: “Yes, definitely, I’m excited for the new season, especially as the first game is at home. That’s always a confidence booster – to be in front of your own fans – so it will be nice.”

Manchester United’s summer transfer business does not seem to be ending with Sancho as the club are reportedly very close to bolstering their defence with France’s Raphael Varane.

Solskjaer has spoken about the importance of incomings this year so the club are able to close the gap with rivals Manchester City.
