Jorginho drops Chelsea team news hint ahead of Tottenham clash as Tuchel makes Kante decision – Football.London

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has dropped a big team news hint on social media that alludes to the key decision Thomas Tuchel has to make ahead of tonight regarding N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva.

Jorginho, 30, starred in the 2-0 first leg win against Antonio Conte’s side as he successfully conducted the midfield well with loanee Saul Niguez in the absence of the Frenchman who was ruled out on the day of the Stamford Bridge tie.

Kante and Silva both returned positive tests but showed no symptoms, something that could have derailed Tuchel’s side in this semi-final but Spurs’ lack of threat coupled with Malang Sarr and Saul’s accomplished performances meant that the aforementioned duo were not missed one bit at all.

However, both are now back in training and relishing the challenge facing the Blues tonight ahead of the crunch match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The question is though- does Tuchel risk the two players or does he trust the same side he put out in the first leg to get the job done against the north Londoners in N17 with Man City looming on the horizon in a massive Premier League title race decider.

Tuchel said in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon: “Right now I would say we have the same guys as we had in the cup game. No news and no new injuries which is good news for us and we have to wait for last minute decision on Thiago and N’Golo.”

He then added on their respective Covid recoveries and the questions around risking them in this game: “It has a huge impact of course, every single day.

“Especially before matchdays. We have training today at 4 o’clock, you hope that everyone makes it into building with a negative test. That is never 100% sure.

“For example now if you want to release players after being positive with N’Golo and Thiago Silva you have to follow some official protocol which we do. Then you have to be very flexible because it could be that both of them arrive in the afternoon, late in training and hopefully it’s like this.

“You can only be really sure one hour before training, two hours before training. It’s more or less a daily routine and repetition of the same scenario. We are getting used to it because this is what we do, adapt to the situations, finding solutions. It’s demanding but it’s not impossible.

“I don’t know. I have to wait if they are in training and then let’s see how they respond. If we do it, it’s a gamble and I’m not sure if we do it, how much responsibility we can take there. At the moment I’m not even sure if they come to training.”

Both did end up training on Tuesday’s at 4pm as spotted in football.london’s piece on this specific session but Chelsea’s number 5 has now hinted at the German’s final decision regarding this specific conundrum.

On the 30-year-old’s Instagram account @jorginhofrello, he posted a rather telling match day graphic that at least hints at his inclusion in the squad.

In the graphic itself, he can be seen donning the yellow away jersey- maybe the club are going to be using this kit instead of the usual blue one that Chelsea fans have become accustom to seeing in this London derby.

If you were in Tuchel’s shoes, who would you select tonight to go out there and get the job done against the Lilywhites? Make your selections below!

Now, it must be noted that not all match day graphics mean that a player is a guaranteed starter but more times than not, it usually turns out that they are to be picked from the get go.

With Saul’s impressive outing in the first leg, you would assume that the same pairing from that game will be the ones trusted to go and finish the job off, meaning Kante is likely to be named on the bench.

On a side note, Chelsea defender Silva, who is in the same situation as Kante going into the second leg, hasn’t posted a match day graphic (at the time of writing) on his Instagram story @thiagosilva, which is rather telling considering he usually always puts out a post on gamedays.
