Julian Nagelsmann has taken aim at Manchester City and Manchester United for spending big this summer.
Meanwhile, if the champions are successful in their follow-up pursuit for Harry Kane, they will almost-certainly top that milestone once again.
Spending has not been restricted to Manchester, though, as Chelsea also welcome Romelu Lukaku back to the UK after rubber-stamping a £97.5million deal with Serie A champions Inter Milan.
Bayern Munich and the other big-hitters across Europe have not splashed out to quite the same level.
Indeed, having replaced Hansi Flick at the Allianz Arena helm, former RB Leipzig coach Nagelsmann has ‘only’ spent £38.5million on French defender Dayot Upamecano.
His announcement preceded Nagelsmann heading to the Bundesliga giants, too, and Bayern don’t expect too much further high-profile movement before the window slams shut.
Asked if the German club are planning to make any more signings, he said: “We will see.
“It is not easy to spend loads of money, we are not in the Premier League.
“If it is possible then, perhaps, we will get in a new player. If not, it’s okay as well and we will work with the players that we have in our squad.”
