Liverpool player ratings vs Brentford as Mo Salah stars in thrilling draw – Mirror.co.uk

Liverpool’s title hopes suffered a blow as Yoane Wissa struck late on to rescue Brentford a point in a six-goal thriller.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had been heading for victory in a pulsating game in west London before Wissa climbed off the bench to level.

The home side took a shock lead in the 27th minute through defender Ethan Pinnock.

Liverpool equalised moments later when Diogo Jota headed in a cross from Jordan Henderson.

Mo Salah put Liverpool ahead eight minutes into the second half. He was initially flagged offside as he tucked the ball away but a VAR check showed he was onside.

The Bees were back on terms when Liverpool’s defence failed to clear their lines and Vitaly Janelt headed in at the second attempt.

However, Liverpool restored their lead almost immediately when Curtis Jones’s fierce strike took a slight deflection and beat David Raya.

The drama wasn’t over as Brentford sub Wissa netted to salvage a deserved share of the spoils.

Here’s how they rated:
