Manchester United were back in pre-season action on Wednesday night as they faced Premier League new boys Brentford in their third friendly fixture of the summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side took the lead early on after a brilliant volley from academy star Anthony Elanga, but went in level at the break after another wonderful effort from Shandon Baptiste.
United regained their lead five minutes into the second-half after a stupendous striker from Andreas Pereira as he volleyed in off the bar from 25-yards out, one of the finest Old Trafford has seen. However, it would end level after Bryan Mbuemo netted a second for Brentford when he capitalised on a defensive error.
While the result wasn’t ideal for Solskjaer it was another great run out for his side against well-drilled opposition as Diogo Dalot and Donny van de Beek earned their first minutes of the summer.
