Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are not due to return to Manchester United for another week.
Fernandes and Pogba were on European Championship duty with their nations until Portugal and France were eliminated at the round-of-16 stage three weeks ago. Pogba is on holiday in Florida while Fernandes has stayed in Portugal for his summer vacation.
United started their pre-season schedule with a 2-1 win at Derby County on Sunday and next travel to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. The squad will spend this week at Pennyhill Park in Surrey, the base of their first UK training camp.
Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek are expected to start training in a week’s time, having missed the first two weeks of pre-season training.
Martial sustained a knee injury on international duty with France on March 28 and has not played since, while Van de Beek had to withdraw from the Netherlands’ Euros squad.
“They’re not ready yet,” Solskjaer said of Martial and Van de Beek. “They’ll probably be 100 per cent training with us a week on Monday. They’re still working hard to step into the group.
“Fernandes and Pogba? It won’t be next week, no. The week after.”
Van de Beek, Martial, Fernandes, and Pogba may not be fit enough for selection against Brentford in an Old Trafford friendly on July 28 and could return to the team at Preston North End on July 31.
United finish their pre-season with the visit of Everton on August 7.
