Manchester United fans send clear message to Paul Pogba after he rejects new contract – Manchester Evening News

Manchester United fans have ambushed Paul Pogba on his Instagram profile, urging him to stay at Old Trafford.

Five years on from his return to the Premier League club, the prospect of Pogba leaving for Paris Saint-Germain is closer than ever after the France star rejected a new £50million contract, as per reports from the Mirror.

As thing stand, the 84-cap France international sees his United deal expire in June 2022.

Wanting to avoid losing such a valuable asset without a fee, United offered their star midfield man the chance to extend his second stay in Manchester, although those terms have since been rebuffed by Pogba and his ‘super agent’ Mino Raiola.

It’s a decision which has re-sparked PSG’s attention, with the big-spending French club prepared to pay £45million for the player this transfer window, while United also need to act quickly.

Still over in the United States, specifically Miami, resting on the back of his Euro 2020 efforts, Pogba posted a ‘cryptic’ message via his Instagram profile that read: “Do or do not, there is no try.”

Needless to say, that post has drawn plenty of replies from Old Trafford and beyond, the majority of which urging him to stay at the club, following this latest development.

Here are a selection of comments made by United supporters in response to Pogba:

@fan_degea1 said: “Don’t leave Man United.”

@stwotonee posted: “Stay at Man U plzzzzz.”

@iam__shidhin added: “Never leave.”

@yahya.__16 said: “Plz sign the contract Paul.”

@_lidormelese posted: “Best CM in the world.”

@brandonferreira28_ added: “Please stay.”

Having progressed through the famed United academy, Pogba headed to Italian giants Juventus on a free transfer in 2012 – returning to Old Trafford four years later.

Across those two spells with the Premier League club, the 28-year-old has played 206 matches in all competitions, scoring 38 goals and laying on 40 assists.
